It’s hard not to notice that the world seems to be spiraling out of control and doing so at an ever-increasing rate. What are we headed for? What are we rushing headlong into? God has foretold us that we are on the threshold of an unprecedented period of His judgment, the return of His focus to Israel, and the return of Christ to reign on planet earth. Rabbi Daniel Asor has recently made statements that this period is about to begin. Let’s examine whether his claims may represent yet another sign that the world is about to plunge into an apocalypse.
We all take steps to be physically prepared for what the future may bring. Given the increasing strife and disasters we are experiencing (and are likely to continue experiencing), this is a very wise and prudent thing to do. In fact, we have written an informative article on why prepping is biblical—when carried out with the right focus and perspective!
However, we also consistently warn that, while physical prepping is good, it is NOT a replacement for being spiritually prepared! Are you spiritually prepared for the unfolding plan of God?
God is the Alpha and Omega. As such, He has declared the end from the beginning in His Word. We should not be surprised by the times, unclear about where the world is heading, nor caught spiritually unprepared. We know from many, many biblical prophecies—including Jesus’ Fig Tree generation and Daniel’s 70th Week—that we are not only in the season of His return but nearing the end of that season.
In addition to this, we have begun to see tremendous spiritual activity surfacing in Israel—especially among the Jewish rabbis. There is a growing anticipation and earnest expectation that their Messiah is about to appear.
Is this a sign that we are very, very close to the Rapture, Tribulation, and Second Coming of Christ?
Let’s take a look at some of the recent statements from Rabbi Daniel Asor and see what we can discern from them regarding the coming days…
Who Is Rabbi Daniel Asor?
Before we get into what Rabbi Daniel Asor, the spiritual leader of the Yanar Institute in Jerusalem, has predicted regarding the timing of the return of the Jewish Messiah and the last days (a.k.a. Tribulation or Time of Jacob’s Trouble), it is critical that you understand what he (and the other rabbis) are not—he is NOT a Christian.
First, Rabbi Asor is a baal teshuva—or a returnee to Judaic observance. In his book The Gates of Rome, he refutes all the Christian arguments used to convert Jews and which has resulted in many missionaries returning to Judaism. He is also an active affiliate of Yad Lachim, an organization that undermines the efforts of missionaries to convert Jews to Christianity.
Second, he denies the blood atonement of Christ. One For Israel Ministry notes that Rabbi Daniel Asor has wrongly claimed that, “Christianity’s obsession on the subject of ‘atonement for sins’ through someone else’s pure blood comes from the Pagan idolatry of ancient religions.”
Not only does he reject Jesus as the Messiah (which Israel does), he has a false understanding of the Atonement. He wrongly associates it with paganism—or Satan’s false Babylonian religious system. The truth is that paganism demands human blood sacrifice from followers through its idol worship. On the other hand, God has done the exact opposite—He has sacrificed Himself for the sin of the world.
I must admit that I find it difficult to understand how a Jewish rabbi could miss the importance of a blood sacrifice given that the entire Old Testament is predicated upon the understanding that God demands a sacrifice for sin. God required an animal sacrifice from the Jews for the temporary remission of sin (not human like the pagans)—until Christ’s personal and perfect blood atonement delivered remission for sin once and for all for.
Third, Rabbi Asor accuses Jesus of coming to sow hatred and cause war and division in the world. The rabbi states:
“Even according to his own words, Jesus didn’t come to bring peace… but the sword. ‘Don’t think that I have come to bring peace to the world, but a sword…’ Jesus didn’t come to give love to the world; he came to rob it.”
He of course is manifesting the same Pharisaical spirit and rejection of Jesus that his forefathers did during Jesus’ earthly ministry, crucifixion, and subsequent outreach by the Apostles.
He does so by taking verses out of context and failing to understand the New Testament—not surprising since He is not saved, has rejected Christ and the New Testament, and is not receiving illumination from the Holy Spirit!
If he can’t even properly interpret the Old Testament, which is filled with well over three hundred divine prophecies that were all perfectly fulfilled by Jesus, then how on earth would one think he could properly understand the New Testament?
This should come as no surprise, as Dr. Eitan Bar aptly notes that today, as in the days of Jesus, “The traditions of the people of Israel are no longer based on the Old Testament, but on keeping the commandments and the traditions which the rabbis invented and still inventing.” Jesus railed against this throughout His earthly ministry.
Why Then Should We Care What Rabbi Asor or Other Rabbis Say?
My point above is simply that Rabbi Asor (as with other rabbis) is NOT saved. He has rejected Jesus as the Messiah. The Jewish rabbis are therefore still anticipating the first arrival of their “messiah”—who will, in fact, be the false messiah… or the Antichrist.
Thus, we must always understand that when they speak about the coming of their messiah, they are NOT referring to the Second Coming of Christ. Rather, they are always anticipating the appearance of the Antichrist—whom they errantly believe will be their messiah.
However, there is some value in keeping an eye on what they are saying. As God shifts his focus back to the nation of Israel, He will begin to work through His people again. He will use the events to ultimately bring them to acceptance of their True Messiah and redemption at His second coming.
While they are deceived about the true circumstances of the coming tribulation and return of Christ, there appears to be a huge awakening among the Jewish rabbis that the time is at hand—that God is about to move in a mighty way. This awakening and anticipation of the imminent appearance of their “messiah”—not what they believe about that event—is interesting from a Christian perspective.
It is a sign that God is beginning to move once again among His people. He will ultimately—as He has clearly declared in His Word—use the events of the tribulation period (i.e., the time of Jacob’s Trouble and Daniel’s 70th Week) to bring them back to Him… to finally accept Jesus Christ as their true Messiah at His second coming.
I cannot stress enough that I am not saying their prophetic understanding of these events is correct—it is not. Rather, I am saying that their understanding of the timing of them is very interesting and could be a sign that we are very, very close to the rapture of the church, the tribulation period, and the return of Christ to establish His earthly kingdom.
When we interpret their statements within the proper context, they may just be telling us something of tremendous value—that the time is at hand!

So, with that in mind, let’s look at what Rabbi Asor is now prophesying and see if we can glean any takeaways from it…
Rabbi Daniel Asor Believes the Messiah’s Appearance Is at Hand
Rabbi Daniel Asor, based on Kabalah teachings written by Rabbi Moshe David Vali (a close follower of prominent Jewish Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto), has asserted that “we are very very close to redemption.”
Specifically, he states that:
- Hitler was the Third Reich and the New World Order is the Fourth Reich.
- The New World Order will take control and rule for 9 months—from January 2021 (Tevet) until September 2021 (Elul).
- On Yom Kippur 2021 (between evening of September 15 until nightfall on the 16th), the “Messiah” (a.k.a. the Antichrist) “will reveal himself and then disappear.”
- The “Messiah” (a.k.a. the Antichrist) will then re-emerge again on Yom Kippur 2022 (October 4-5).
- Between Yom Kippur 2022 and 2023, “The Messiah [a.k.a. the Antichrist] will make his second appearance and we will see the final redemption.”
To be crystal clear, I don’t buy his overall timeline at all—it does not match the Word of God. However, his rabbinical prophecy is further evidence that a growing number of Jewish rabbis believe something is up—and that something is the appearance of what they believe will be their Messiah.
Furthermore, the growing consensus is that they expect events to begin unfolding very quickly—beginning at or near the start of 2021. For more on this, I encourage you to read our article Signs & Prophecies Emerging from Israel—Last Chance to Get Prepared?
This earnest anticipation and feeling of imminent expectation match with what—I would argue—most people around the world are feeling themselves… that something just isn’t right and that something big is about to happen.
Furthermore, it does tie to the legitimate biblical timeline regarding a potential start of the Tribulation period in early 2021—with an imminent Rapture anytime between now and then.
Now—I am not setting a date for the Rapture! I am merely stating that we have entered a period of high alert based on prophetic scriptures in the Word of God.
Furthermore, I find the growing expression among Jewish rabbis regarding a very soon appearance of their Messiah very interesting—in terms of both their timing and their readiness to accept and embrace their “Messiah” (a.k.a. their false messiah—the Antichrist).
As such, it provides us with some potential secondary or tertiary confirmation that we are in the season—the season of Christ’s return.
Gog and Magog: Rabbi Asor Points to a Coming War between the US and China
Interestingly, Rabbi Asor has also predicted a soon war between the US and China, warning that Jewish Americans should return to Israel immediately. Again, we discussed this same prediction by other rabbis in our article Signs & Prophecies Emerging from Israel—Last Chance to Get Prepared?
In a recent interview, Rabbi Asor warned: “The United States and China will go to war against each other… [and] Russia will join China in the war,” noting that this war will be the Biblical war of Gog and Magog.
Rabbi Asor also added:
“Once the war between America and China is waged, martial law will be enforced which will shut down the highways, seaports, and air travel throughout the USA… This is why it’s so important for Jewish Americans to leave and come to Israel.”
He explains that “this war will pave the path for the inevitable takeover of the New World Order that is headquartered in the Vatican.”
While we must remain cautious when reflecting on prophetic statements from rabbis, it is interesting that this general belief does find merit in terms of a pending judgment on America, as well as the biblical view of both (1) the war of Gog and Magog and (2) the one-world government (UN & the Antichrist) and one-world religion (Mystery Babylon & the False Prophet).

Again, this only represent potential secondary and tertiary level confirmation of God’s Word… but it is very intriguing. If God is preparing to begin working exclusively with and through His chosen nation (Israel)—a nation the demands signs from Him, then it only stands to reason that we would begin to see high-levels of spiritual activity among the Jewish rabbis.
We should never build our doctrines upon these questionable rabbinical beliefs—our understanding comes from the Word of God and the illuminating work of the Spirit. However, the increased activity among Jewish religious leaders should definitely be registering on our spiritual radars—it’s part of maintaining our situation awareness!
Update: Yet Another Rabbi Breaks Silence on the Coming of Messiah
Rabbi Shalom Arush, a prominent Israeli Breslov rabbi and founder of the Chut Shel Chessed Institutions, just announced (late August 2020) that he believes the Messiah will appear sometime between this coming Rosh Hashana, which begins on September 18th, and the following New Year.
During an interview, Rabbi Arush stated, “This Rosh Hashana will be the last one without Moshiach [the Messiah]. And it could very well be that on this Rosh Hashanna the Messiah will be revealed.”
This was completely uncharacteristic for Rabbi Arush, who is known for remaining silent on this subject. In fact, he stated:
“Anyone who knows me knows that for over 40 years I am teaching, and have I never spoken about Messiah. But these are things that are clear and everyone sees them. I can’t explain but please, don’t miss out on this.”
In so doing, Rabbi Arush added his name to a growing number of prominent rabbinical sources that have proclaimed this coming year–which begins on September 18th–will witness the coming of their messiah.
Again, this messiah that they are anticipating will be a false messiah—the Antichrist. However, we are clearly witnessing a surging anticipation within the Jewish religious community—one that is “clear and everyone sees”—that the arrival of their Messiah is at the door.
And, if this is a valid stirring of their spirit by God in final preparation to begin Daniel’s final week and the time of Jacob’s Trouble (a.k.a. the Tribulation period), then that means the true Messiah—Jesus Christ—is about to rapture the church and unite with His bride in heaven.
Update: Jewish Rabbi in Contact with the Messiah—To Reveal Himself Soon???
Israel Today recently reported that “Israel’s biggest rabbis are all afraid to leave the country lest they miss Messiah’s coming.”
In a recent interview on Israeli radio, yet another prominent rabbi—Rabbi Yaakov Zisholtz—revealed that Rabbi Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky recently told him that he (Kanievsky) is already in direct contact with the Messiah.
Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky is considered to be one of the two or three top rabbis of the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Israel.
Zisholtz was joined by several other prominent rabbis on the show, all declaring the “Messiah” is just about to reveal himself.
Specifically, Rabbi Zisholtz stated:
…the process of redemption is about to start happening very quickly and at a fast pace. It is important that people remain calm and steady to act properly in the right time… Getting the word out now that the Messiah is closer than ever is a matter of life and death. Haven’t you heard of Gog and Magog? That is what is going to happen very soon. Right now, the situation is explosive more than you can possibly imagine. Everyone needs to know whether they are on the inside or if they are going to be left out.”
Again, these rabbis are not anticipating the true Messiah (Jesus Christ) but, rather, a false messiah—the Antichrist.
However, these rabbinic messages (exploding in both frequency and intensity) continue to demonstrate the massive expansion in messianic expectations among Jewish rabbis—expectations that he will appear in 2020 or early 2021.
As such, they speak to the urgency of making sure you are on the Ark that is Jesus Christ now—true believers will be raptured before the Antichrist appears!
Remember, we must be cautious about placing to much weight on the “prophetic” declarations of these rabbis. However, when combined with a massive—and I mean MASSIVE—amount of other signs and prophetic frameworks revealed in God’s Word, it is becoming clear that the stage has been set and something BIG is about to happen in the world.
As we have seen, Rabbi Daniel Asor (as with many other Jewish rabbis) has declared his belief that the appearing of the Jewish messiah is at hand. Specifically, he has prophesied that the New World Order (a.k.a. one-world government) will take power at the start of 2021 (which should mark the start of the “peace treaty”) and the messiah will first appear (or be recognized by Israel) in September 2021.
Furthermore, he anticipates the biblical war of Gog and Magog beginning shortly, including a Sino-Russian war with America. For more on this possibility, check out our article US-China Tensions Escalate: Preemptive Sino-Russian Nuclear Strike Imminent?
Now, these rabbis—who reject Jesus Christ as the true Messiah—are looking towards the first appearance of a false messiah, the Antichrist. However, this in no way negates the potential importance of their errant belief. When viewed through the lens of proper context, it absolutely confirms the biblical view of the tribulation period… and the fact that it very well could be much, much closer than many are willing to believe.
I would ask yourself… If the New World Order does rise to power at the start of 2021, would this not necessitate the removal of He who has been restraining this—the Holy Spirit, who resides within believers (a.k.a. the true church and body of Christ)?
In other words, if the Spirit of God is about to be removed from the world in order to facilitate Satan’s short reign during the tribulation period, does that not mean that the Rapture must occur before that happens?
Jesus’ Fig Tree generation and a plethora of other biblical teachings all point to the imminent start of the Tribulation. There is a shelf life on these prophecies and time is almost up. While the details of the rabbinical beliefs are incorrect, they do seem to at least have the timing right—which absolutely makes sense within a proper understanding of Israel’s current position on God’s prophetic timetable.
To learn about some other secondary signs that the return of Christ is at our doorstep, I encourage you to read our articles Signs in Sun, Moon & Stars—Horsemen of Apocalypse Ready to Ride? and Red Heifer a Harbinger of the End Times—Prepare for Apocalypse?
Folks, you don’t want to miss the Rapture! The tribulation is NOT something you want to go through!
The age of grace will be over, and God will be back to working exclusively through Israel and the gospel of the kingdom. It will be a difficult time to be alive and worship God—the vast majority will throw their lot behind the Antichrist and those who don’t will be severely persecuted and killed.
We are out of time… Christ will be returning at any moment to snatch away His bride—the church—and rescue them from the judgement and wrath of God that will be poured out upon the earth during the seven years to follow.
Don’t miss the Ark that is Jesus Christ!
Decide to place your faith in in Christ’s blood atonement today… His payment for your sins—past, present, and future.
Salvation comes but one way: through faith alone, in Christ alone, by grace alone:
The Apostle Paul: “I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:1-9)
Folks, for the love of God, please be not ignorant of the times and the season. We absolutely encourage you to be physically prepared for whatever challenges we may face before the Rapture… but ensure that you are spiritually prepared first and foremost!
Get on the Ark that is Jesus Christ… before the doors are shut, and the rains begin!
